What do I look for upon selecting a rock to post on the web page?   Read more to find out!

I have 30 Mbuna's in a 75 gallon acrylic 2 way view tank. So first and foremost, I ask myself if I would put any of these rocks in my own tank?  If the answer is no, then the rock stays.  If I say yes, then I go through all the trouble to get them cleaned up and ready for sale.  For more about that, see our articles all about TX Holey Rocks.

During a typical hunt, I select rocks that have unique characteristics and have multiple shapes - I'm looking for rocks with lots of curves or a unique shape, because only the best will do for my customers.

Hole size and the number of holes has something to do with my choice - after all, these rocks are for your cherished cichlids.  So, they've got to have lots of holes of the right size to best accommodate cichlids

How small or large the rock is has a lot to do with it. Large rocks are more difficult because of the weight. Transporting a heavy rock is more difficult and more work to clean.  Check out these big guys in our store for an idea of just what I'm talking about with the big rocks:  Monster Rocks. I keep in mind that people have small tanks as well as large tanks, so we also offer some small rocks as well:  Smaller Rocks.

Some I view as center pieces and others as medium sized that can be used to create a balance in the tank. I am always amazed at what I find. No 2 rocks are identical. It's hard work but I keep on going, knowing that every rock that is passed up what is underneath?  I never know, it could be a potential rock to put up on the web site.

I definitely hope you enjoy looking at all we have to offer on our website, and thanks for visiting.
